For many users Autodesk Inventor is their program of choice for parametric 3D modelling and 3D assembly design. Autodesk Inventor offers a wide variety of functions to create parts and assemblies based on parameters and constraints. Next to the standard modelling functionalities, Autodesk Inventor also has a sheet metal module, which allows you to create parametric sheet metal designs.
The sheet metal module enables you to create sheet metal parts and flat patterns. These sheet metal parts can used within your assembly and the flat patterns can be exported to be used in a cutting machine. The sheet metal parts and flat patterns can also be used in 2D production drawings including bends, bend directions, bend row order and bend angles.
The user needs to have experience and working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor. Some knowledge about sheet metal parts and bending steel sheet is recommended but not mandatory.
The Autodesk Inventor Sheet metal course is a 1 day course where the user will learn how to use Autodesk Inventor to create 3D sheet metal parts, flat patterns and 2D technical drawings of sheet metal parts.
Day-1 |
- Inventor sheet metal - Sheet metal interface - Sheet metal parameters - Sheet metal sketches - Sheet metal part - Flanges, cutouts and corners - Cutouts over Bends - Manipulating the sheet metal part - Optimizing the sheet metal part - Creating a flat pattern pattern - Creating a 2D drawing of a sheet metal part - Exporting the flat pattern |
